yes, computer associates on both.  I contacted them for the virus scan and
they gave me some settings to try which stoped the store from going down. 
As for the backup agent, I shut it down (the service) to take it out of
the equation until I can figure out if it was actually causing a problem
or not.  The virus fix was to stop it from scanning the actual database
