Not having run an Exchange server with "multiple virtual organizations" on it, I can't answer authoritatively but if the virtual organizations have different LegacyExchangeDNs, then I would guess it'll have to be run for each organization. How long it takes to run depends on: 1) the number of items that need to be updated 2) the speed of your server 3) the speed of your network 4) the speed of your workstation Brian Pituley Director of Information Technology T: 408-441-3611 F: 408-441-8405 E: bpituley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:bpituley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ________________________________ From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jabber Wock Sent: Friday, March 02, 2007 2:43 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: dst update Hi, I guess my big question in reading that article and KBs is: when is this tool needed (and when is it not neede)? That is not clear to me at all. If I have applied the Windows DST patches on the server do I still need to run this tool and why? Presumably this tool is run from an administrator's desktop rather than on the server itself, so if I have multiple virtual organizations on my exchange server, do I need to make each of those administrators run this tool? Also: How long does this tool take to run? I have two stores on my server of approxmately 30GB and 40Gb in size. TIA!
