Delivery and read receipts are extensions to the mail services of
Exchange... most other e-mail servers you'll connect to in the Internet
won't support those... thus it is normal (and out of your control) not
to receive those in your case... usually your users should be sent a
message saying "the message has been relayed... you will receive no
further notifications;" this indicates to them that the message was
delivered to a SMTP server, but can't be tracked beyond that point.

this is a new exchange 5.5 server and clients are using Outlook 2k. I
dont
seem to receive any delivery or read receipts from the internet.
Internally works, is there a setting on Exchange 5.5 or is this because
the internet servers we are accessing aren't exchange?
