this only works in windows2k advanced server(or any win2k3 server but you
running exchange2k so i'm assuming windows 2k).
anyway, in the boot.ini file you enter "/3gb".
this gives exchange extra virtual mem.
normally if say you have a server with 4gig of meme, windows kernel takes 2gig
and leaves the rest for apps.
this switch allows 1gig for windows and 3 gig for exchange in my example.

it may help.
be aware this will involve a reboot.

Well, i do not know for sure, hey have Windows 2000 5.0.2195 SP4 running with
3 gig of memory..
I have the standard limits set up. When i check Disk defragmenter i see that
indeed the disk is very fragmented. Can it harm to just start defragmentation
now and let ik run through the night and hoping it is ready by tomorrow
morning? The disk is 130 gig large.. and has 70% used...
And what do you mean with the 3gig switch?

Are you running Windows 2k adv server and have more than 1 gig of mem?
if so, have you tried the 3gig swtich in boot.ini?
that might help you some.

also, do you set mailbox limits?

thanks
