Veritas and Groupshield Win2k3 Exchange 2k3

Anyone using this combo?
It seems that when Veritas starts the backup, groupshield blows up causing
the eventlog to fill with 'cannot scan "' (quotation marks intentional).
Then the backup starts to take 18 hours for 120 mailboxes!
