VPN Logon Problem

Greetings,
 
I  have a user who is experiencing problems logging onto an Exchange 5.5
server,
 
Background:
 
User VPN's into Windows 2000 Server 
 
Exchange 5.5 is on member NT 4 Server Domain Controller
 
The user is able to successfully log on by VPN to the Windows 2000
server however when he tries to connect the Exchange server, he is
continuously prompted for his username and password...
 
The user is able to successfully connect to the Exchange Server from his
home computer which is running XP Pro via VPN (Broadband Connection)
 
The problem happens when he tries to log on with his laptop while he is
on the road.  Laptop is running XP Pro. No SP1
 
His laptop uses Verizon Express Networks
