Options are: 1. Upgrade to enterprise edition 2. Check the mailbox sizes and lean on the worst offenders (usually upper management) 3. use exmerge A good example for using exmerge is to pick a large joke file that's currently doing the rounds of your company and wipe it out of the database. Alternatively you can wipe out files before a certain date. You can do this under the guise of a backup, and even keep the data if you want although its difficult to do anything with it. Not sure if you need to do an offline defrag afterwards though - have never hit this limit. Then you go to the MailBox Data (MDBDATA) folder and delete any .log file in there. Hope this help, Alan -----Original Message----- From: pranavk@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:pranavk@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 10:24 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Urgent: help please Importance: High http://www.MSExchange.org/ Dear all, We are using E2K standard edition on Win2k standard server. Our database size is exceeding the limit of 16 GB. Online defragmentation shows only 1 GB of free space. Is there any way to decrease the size of database immediately. Server is restarting intermittently because of this problem. Thanks in advance Regards, Pranav MCL, Nagpur.
