Upgrade question...

Hi all,
I'm planning to upgrade my domain from 2000 to 2003 and in doing so,
create a new domain controller and decommission the old one as I'm
afraid the hardware might fail anytime..
What I'm planning to do is the build a new computer, install windows
2000 server. Then dcpromo it to create a second dc in the domain. Then,
transfer the fsmo and make it global catalog server. Now, by doing so,
how does the exchange server recognize that I now have a new DC. Is it
as easy as change the DNS on the exchange server or do I have to run
some tool?
