I assume that your mail server - deepblue.bounceme.net and you assign
the A record, although you have a static IP address from your ISP or DNS
provider for your mail server as follows.
Deepblue A 219.65.97.135
I can not find any MX record for your mail exchanger. It is suppose to
be like as follows
Bounceme.net MX Preference 5 deepblue.bounceme.net

When you have a mail server in hand, you have to have a
secondary mail server in case of your primary mail server (your E2K
server) unavailable or down. What secondary mail server does is (your
external mail exchanger in this case) if you're primary went offline
secondary will temporary hold your incoming mails. Most of the companies
use their ISP's mail servers as a secondary mail exchanger.

Hi all,
Iam using a dynamic Ip (dialup) and have exchange server
installed on my win2000 domain controller.
I have registered with noip.com and my domain name would be
deepblue.bounceme.net (deepblue is my hostname) ping by name works fine.
Now for entering the MX record i have a doubt.
In the noip page information it shows as two sections.
1) Hostname :deepblue.bounceme.net
Host type: Dns host (A)
Ip address:my dynamic ip
2) Mail options
Enter name of your external mail exchangers(mx records)
MX Record MX priority
????? 5
Here the question mark i have to fill up******* .
My question is "should i have my MX record already with another
ISP? if not what should i fill up?
MY computer name is deepblue.raj.com
By the way i can send email fine!!.
