Trend ScanMail v6.2 for Exchange 200/2003 issue with activeupdate

Hi all, has anyone come across this issue. Active update fails with error
"Update: Generic source network failure". It is trying to retrieve the
update via url
http://smex-p.activeupdate.trendmicro.com/activeupdate/product/ausmex6.zip
If I try to do this manually, it works fine using IE5.5 and Firefox, but
IE6 fails to retrieve the update file. The server running scanmail is also
the exchange server and it has IE6.
It points to another box running Mimesweeper for web as an Internet proxy.
I can download the file from the proxy o.k. (it has IE 5.5).
Any help would be great, Trend support suck.
