Steve,

It wasn't that I didn't have mailboxes. What had happened was that the new
mailboxes were being created in the offline address book (OAB) database instead
of the PRIV. edb. The feature to move mailboxes was not available on the
server. When I tried check my workstation, which has the administrative tools
loaded, the move option was available. Therefore, I was able to move the
mailboxes back into the PRIV. However while performing the move, I saw the
SystemMailbox. There is one in the PRIV.edb as well as one in the OAB. I am
guessing my Norton avf messages are accumulating in this mailbox.

Hi Bill

If you don't have any mailboxes, as per your earlier reply, how have you
managed to get a System Mailbox??

As I said earlier, When you create a user, and create the corresponding
mailbox, the mailbox has to have an email sent to it before it will show
up in the mailbox store. The entry in the AD and Address book shows you
that you have indeed created the user, and all it is waiting on is an
email.

Hi Bill

Here is an article that explains how to gain access to the System
Mailbox, you need to be very careful what you do in here, and I would
strongly recommend NOT deleting anything from it.

Good morning,

While fixing the move mailbox matter, I ran into another conern.
While viewing my mailboxes I found a systems mailbox with a huge quality
of mail. My question is how do I access a system mailbox to review
and/or delete the mail within? I have tried accessing this account, but
have been unsuccessful.

Good morning,

When I upgraded from 5.5 to 2000 the move mailbox feature was not
installed on the server. I have the administrative tools installed on my
workstation and the move mailbox option is visible.

I am not able to move the mailboxes from the OAB to the PRIV.edb.

Thanks

Mark

Have you actually tried sending mail to the mailbox. It doesn't get
created until a mail goes into it.

Mark,

When I right click over a user and select Exchange tasks the Wizard
appears. When I choose next, I see delete mailbox and install instant
messaging. I am guessing that this move mailbox feature is part of the
administrative tools on the Exchange 2000 server disk. What do you
think?

Thanks

Bill

Bill,

What exactly do you mean by "was created in my offline address book"?

So when you right click over the account in Active Directory Users and
Computers, and then select Exchange Tasks, what do you see?

Good afternoon,

    I am presently using a Exchange 2000 box running Window 2K SP3.
While creating a new mailbox, I discovered the mailbox was created in my
Offline Address Book instead of my Priv edb. When I attempted to move
the mailbox out of one location to the other, I learned that the move
option in the Exchange Wizard was not present? Can anyone tell me how to
install the move mailbox feature on my Exchange box?
