Doug,
In our case, we have a dedicated Internet mail gateway server, which
does the gateway virus scanning and Spam filtering. I have not seen any
performance issues at all. We block over 50,000 spams a day.

Just wanted to say the added benefit of a gateway spam solution (such as
barracuda) decreases A LOT of load on your server, whereas an on-server
solution would increase it. The benefit of such things is underrated.

I have found GFI Mailessentials to be a perfect product with good
support, and the cost is unbelievably low. We paid under $700 for
unlimited user license. In your case, you could get a less number of
user license and would be a lot cheaper. GFI ME 10.1 does a great job in
blocking more than 98% of spams for us. GFI ME has Bayesian, Directory
harvest, Blacklist, SPF, keyword and Header checking filters. You can
even download the evaluation for up to 30 days from www.gfi.com.

We have exchange 2003 on windows 2003 server with 150 mailboxes .We are

for all mailboxes because of high cost.Can anyone suggest me a software
which can protect spam for all mailboxes but uses only one user license.
