RE: Slow OWA 2003 access

I just tested through a UUnet dialup number, at 49.2k Kbps, and it took 3
minutes to load the inbox. I then clicked on Calendar and it took 58 seconds.
Clicked back on inbox and it only took 10 seconds to load. Logged off/back on
and it only took 15 seconds to load inbox.

It appears to be cache'ing once you have been there once. I'm going to have
to research some more with my laptop users to see if this is the case or not
on their specific setups.

Thanks.

What was the expected amount of time? 45 seconds over a slow link isn't bad
for full functionality OWA as I recall.

Two different laptops. Both using AT&T dialup. It takes about 45 seconds.

Was it slow with the same laptop?

What are we talking about when we say slow? Is it 30 seconds? 60 seconds?
300 seconds?

I tested it myself outside the network with a laptop, using AT&T dialup,
going into OWA, and the loading of the pages are extremely slow. Using OWA
connection within the network, or through DSL is fast.

Depends on what's making it slow and how consistently it's slow. If they're
the only ones that have that issue, do they get the same result using the
slimmed down version for slow networks?

Have you received a network capture to see what happens over the wire that
may make it slow? Have you verified it's the network and not the workstation?

Al

I just upgraded from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. Users who are using
dialup (yes, they are still out there) are expressing very slow access to
OWA. Is there a way to speed it up from my end?
