They need RAS for email and a bespoke piece of software.

I have not got as far as ras users connecting because as soon as the ras
service started it kills the local network.

Users can not access any shared resources. can not log on as no domain
controller.

I set up ras to use windows authentication and not RADIUS

Any more ideas?

If you have RAS turned on can the RAS user connect properly? Your not forcing
all users into a RADIUS server that isn't there are you?

RAS

    Hi All

If any one can solve this I will buy them a drink.

    I have a customer running:

Windows 2000 (PDC) with Exchange 2000 on the same box.

They are trying to setup RAS so remote users can connect and pick up
email.(On the same box)

    Problem:

Every time I enable RAS on the server the local users are unable to logon.
The error is "can not find domain controller"
Stop the ras service all works again.

I think it is a routing issue but I have installed RAS and set the routing
and IP forwarding to off.

Any ideas will save me grey hair.

    Many thanks for any help.
