Latest Service Pack or latest roll-up?
The roll-up doesnt change the build number.

Hi Gang,

I just tried to install the latest service pack from MS for Exchange Server
2000, and when I go check the build version, it's still the same version that
it was before I tried to install the new one. It seemed to have installed
properly...shutting down the necessary services it requests, starts them back
up, then I reboot the server, check the Build number, and it's still the same.

Any help would be appreciated.
