That's a fine answer, although a bit expensive for a referral. I bet if he tells us where he is, a bundle of folks would step up and offer to consult on it! But: If he's feeling energetic, he could try using migwiz. You can use MigWiz for LDAP and IMAP mail migrations - although to be honest, this is something I've never actually tried. But the option is there, so you might want to give it a run in the lab - you DO have a lab, right? Of course, the client migration also has to be taken into account, and that can usually be scripted to one extent or another, depending on your current environment and situation. In other words, you have a lot of research to do if you're going to do it on your own, and this isn't really the place to start. Having said that, if you share a bit more detail with us (more than 'you run sendmail') I'm sure you can get a bit more info here.
