Hi there, this a.m. upon review of backups (Veritas 9.1 (w/ Exchange Agent as
well as OFO agent) on a Windows 2000 SP3 Server with Exchange Standard 2000 SP3
w/ Post sp3 Hotfix (august 04), noticed that the OFO timed out (does so
occasionally). So it could not back up a couple of files. First time noticed
that it could not back up a couple of *.stf files in the original install
MDBDATA directory.

Since never ran into this one before, I did the due diligence of research and
understand from http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;258542
that these files are normal, temp files which generate in the directory
containing the log files. However, I had moved log files, as well as DB, to
another disk (which did not show any STF files) a little over two weeks ago.
These STF files have modify, creation dates of yesterday and today (actually on
one of them, the 'creation' date modifies to the time you actually check the
properties, ie. 'Right now').

My concern is that the STF's are not being generated in location of the log
files. Did I miss something? I had followed
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;257184

Should I actually be concerned about this?

Thanks! Dan
