For an explanation of what SPF is all about, read the links posted by
others.

There are 2 parts to implementing SPF:

1. Publishing SPF records for your internet domain name. This is simply a
TXT record in the DNS zone for your domain name. It tells what servers are
allowed to send e-mail from for your domain.

2. Checking for SPF records. This is done during the spam filtering process.
A spam filter with SPF capabilities will send a DNS query for the SPF record
of a domain. Depending on what the response is, it can take action.

"Declude Junkmail"(tm) for Imail was the first anti-spam software to add
implementation for checking for SPF records. www.dnsreport.com and
www.dnsstuff.com are sponsored by Declude and are provided free of charge to
the Internet community.
