Thanks for the info! I will definitely check it out. Luckily I have a Linux
expert sitting next to me that would love to help.

Lorie, I'm right there with you. I'm going to second Tom Kern's recommendation
and suggest a linux/spamassassin solution. I use this here and it has been a
fantastic solution for us (also a small shop and penny pinching management).
You can use an older PC for this with no problem in a small shop. If you know
linux, you can set it up in a day or so... if not figure 3 days or so to set it
up. If you decide to go this way, and need any help, email me offlist.
Management will love the price (free)!

-Shawn

I absolutely agree that it is worth every penny. I am sure that you have all
had the experience trying to explain this to management. They actually want
someone to "whip up an application in house to control spam". They literally
think it is a checkbox that you turn on and poof there goes the SPAM. Very
frustrating.

It's only $450.00 for 25 mailboxes Lorie. I'd tell your company, for the cost
and the affectiveness of GFI, it's well worth it and will save big $$$ to the
company so employees don't have to waste their time going through the email to
see what's Spam or not.

Hi list!

I think this is only the second time I have posted in the 2 years I have been
on the list.

I submitted a request last year for GFI Mail Essentials for 2006. Yesterday I
get the ok to order and OMG the price has doubled. Which means I have to find
an alternative. I am looking for software to run on the Exchange server
(limited budget, small shop, tons of spam). Does anyone have a recommendation
for something comparable to GFI Mail Essentials?

Thanks,
Lorie
