I have recently migrated my Exchange 2003 system to a 2007 system.

I have three servers One Edge server, one Mailbox Client and Hub server, and one Client and Hub server.

All is working with one exception. IMAP and POP clients cannot authenticate to the SMTP server on the mailbox client. So they cannot send mail through SMTP.

The connection is rejected. The clients are configured for SSL over port 587.

It would appear mail from the users in the exchange administrator group works. So the issue is a permissions issue, not an SSL or ports issue.

I think the issue is the SMTP receive connector is limited to only excepting connections from administrators but I cannot find out how to give others permissions.

I do not want to enable open relays on the server obviously Any help would be appreciated Lloyd Williams
