-------------------------------------------------------We run with the OS on a
local mirrored pair, Exchange binaries and the
stores on an IBM DS4800 RAID 5 and the Logs on the same DS4800 but a
separate RAID5. We're currently 2GB fiber redundant, one pair to a
McData switch and the other pair to an IBM Director. Good performance,
flexibility and DR.

Arizona......

http://www.msexchange.org
-------------------------------------------------------Not much to it in
the most basic theoretical sense Carve out some LUN's from your SAN,
move the stores to 1 LUN and the transaction logs to another in ESM and
you are done. Of course, you have to think about how you connect to the
SAN and various other factors. Then there's the price.

My server is connected via 2gig Fiber to Brocade switches with
multipathing, then into a redudant heads on a NetApp. No complaints
here.

Beyond that, various SAN vendors offer different type of software to do
advanced functionality with snapshotting, mirroring, etc.

Hi,

Does anybody has (bad?) experiences with Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise
Edition and the use of SAN (Storage Attached Network)?

Thanks.
