Thanks Doug,

I have been looking at the same thing, changing settings from my smart host to
my backend server, but I don't think I have been leaving them long enough to
replicate and my tests to work.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate your help.

Rory

Are all of your accounts on one server?, You mentioned the
Master server is a back-end. That being so, look at your SMTP Virtual
Server. If you are forwarding undeliverable mail to your smart host,
your smart host will deliver it right back in. (bounce). I found it to
be a problem here, solved by clearing that box. (Forward all mail with
unresolved recipients to host:)
I doubt that error you are getting is from the routing group
connector, I'd look at the SMTP Virt Server.

Due to pure desparation i have now setup another site and re-installed
my server in the new site. I have setup two routing groups and one
routing group connector, and guess what, same result. :-)
My master server is a backend server to a machine running trend mail
scan, so all my smtp, inbound and outbound mail is getting routed by
this server. I have setup my firewall to accept and pass all ports from
both sites.
What am i missing??

Why are you configuring a Routing Group Connector if they are in the
same
site?
