Hello Al,

Thanks a lot, also got this answered on the MS Newsgroups. I just found
it strange that both below MS docs:

Understanding How Domain Rename Works
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/docs/Domain-Rename-Intro.doc

Step-by-Step Guide to Implementing Domain Rename
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/docs/Domain-Rename-Procedure.
doc

explicitly states Exchange 2000 instead of either Exchange 2000/2003 or
Exchange 2000 and later.

But then I was referred to below MS KB:

Exchange System Attendant Does Not Start After You Rename a Windows
Server 2003 Domain:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822590

Domain rename is not something that Exchange 200x will be able to cope
with.
If you have Exchange 200x deployed, you'll want to stay away from domain
rename altogether.

Not to slight the amount of effort that went into Exchange 2003, but for
purposes of what it does and how it interacts with Active Directory, we
can
in most cases think of it as Exchange 2000.5 ;)

Hi Henrik

If memory serves it actually says "Exchange 2000 or later".

Regards,

Paul Lemonidis.
