Removing all traces of Exchange 2000

Hello,

 

Is it possible to remove and Exchange 2000 server completely from a
domain (Active Directory)? What I really want to do is build a new
Exchange environment. Perhaps adding a new server, migrating to it, and
then removing the old server?
