It is because Open-relay is disabled on your server. This disallows spamming on
your mail server.
I'll advise you keep it that way.

Hi,
when i try to telnet to my smtp server and then try to send a mail from
command prompt to my friend it says "Unable to relay for jyothiraj@xxxxxxx (
that is my friend address)
Why is this ???
What i mean is i can send to my friend through outlook .Why is it not possible
through command prompt?
I cannot understand how this is related with relaying.
Any help is appreciated.
