I am in aggreement with that solution.  One other possibility if you
have a good backup of your information store would be to reinstall
exchange and then restore the IS via backup.

        What I was suggesting is that if you have a complete system
state copy
        to restore, it may work. Or if you have the pre-corrupt files on
backup
        try copying those over.
        It is not a fun place to be in.
        The only other suggestion is to build a test E2K server, corrupt
some of
        the files that are in the live version and see if a restore from
CD can
        work.

        The data is fine..  it's the system files for exchange I need to

        If you have a back up try restoring from the most recent
successful one
        before the corruption happened.

        how can I restore these files?
        
        Stop all exchange services and repair from the cd???  What can I
