No you can't do that when in cached mode, but you can update the GAL several
times a day which may get you nearer to what you want. Also, make sure the
Outlook clients download the new GAL of course.

If your Outlook clients operate in online mode, the changes are immediate.

That is great, but how can you set it to refresh automatically when you add
a new group? Can you?

Hi Brian,

This setting can be changed as below:

1. In the Exchange Management Console, go to Organizational
Configuration.
2. Click on Mailbox.
3. On the Offline Address Book tab, click the Default Address Book.
4. In the actions pane, click properties.
5. On General tab, click Customize and select the timings as you need.
6. Click Ok.

Thanks,

Vipin

Right now when I create a new user or Distribution group in exnage, it will
not show up in the GAL till the next day. How can I change this to be
immediate?

I know this is a rookie question and I should know it...

Thanks,

Brian
