Problem with OWA on Exchange 2000

Hi All,
 
We currently have Exchange 2000 running and have a number of clients using OWA 
as their main mail client from shared PCs.
 
We have set the authentication to basic (so that they are presented with a 
challenge response dialog) and the site is using SSL to prevent the passing of 
clear text passwords.
 
This works fine until the clients try to change their passwords using the 
options section in OWA.
 
When they click on the change password button a new window opens but the page 
cannot be displayed with an http: 500 error.
 
Can anyone help with this?
