Priv.edb size keeps the same after clean mailbox and eseutil /p

Hello everyone.
Scenario: Windows 2000 Updated and Exchange 5.5 service pack 4.
Somethings I cant understand. I have a exchange test with only 10
users. One of them I tested with thousands of messages, and the mailbox size
for it got 255Mbs. After that I look at the priv.edb size and it was about
260Mb.
I cleaned all the messages for that user with clean malibox utility.
Then I stopped the services and did run eseutil /d /ispriv and I started the
services. The priv.edb keeps its original size tough, something about 256Mb.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing? I hoped the size was much less
than that. The other mailbox sizes are almost zero bytes.
