PST files size is 32 k

I've created a couple of .PST files to import them to another server
which has the excat setup as the original but exmerge in the last window
shows failed operations. Those .pst files are 32 k in size each !
I am wondering why their sizes match while the inboxes contain
a lot more than that ? I also would like to know if I am missing something
that makes exmerge operation unsuccessful.
