No need to delete office to get what you want.
To create a new profile, you want to exit out of the current one. Use the
mail applet in control panel and select 'Show Profiles'. You can delete the
existing one or create a new one. I'd probably create a new one and set it
as the default profile else prompt for profile to use so I can choose on
startup. Of the two, I prefer the second method as it gives me a visual
clue that the previous client fully unloaded (if no prompt, then it didn't
unload. If it prompts for profile, then I've fully unloaded) which keeps me
from confusing results.

Al - my profile loads just fine/quick on another workstation so it is down
to my own PC.
I guess I'm going to have to delete my Outlook profile/application on the PC
but am unsure how to do this without uninstalling Office complely. I reckon
a file corrupted when the PC crashed with Outlook open.

Have you tried with a new Outlook profile of just your mailbox (no add-ins,
no other outlook services, etc)? What was the result?

Have you tried your account on the machine where it works quickly? What was
the result?

It sounds more like a change was implemented on the desktop that didn't take
effect until reboot, but the above are pretty easy to try to rule out other
issues.

Do you use pst files?

I have one on a remote PC and defraging the disk improved the performance
dramatically. This was on a Win XP machine, built in defrag didn't defrag
pst file with outlook closed but diskeeper did.
