well, if the patches are critical as mentioned, then MUST be installed, I
already had a serious problem in my exchange server last year when I left it
with no update for only 2 months, which kept me fixing it for 8 continuous
hours infront of the monitor !!!!!!
Remenber the Shutdown problem and the opened ports in Windows NT based machines
.? ..

I agree with you that even If I use the manual to follow ALL the steps exactly,
there will be also alot of problems,,, after all Microsoft products are our
best and most common and cheap solution to implement.

My point of view is , as long as the server is working Perfect , no need to
install other things , because its Microsoft , that is

Subject: [exchangelist] Outlook Clients with E2K login delay & freeze

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Dear All,

Anyone seen this before ?

Microsoft outlook clients when trying to connect to the Exchange corporate
server it freezes for a while ( about 10 to 20 seconds ) then it says server is
not available ( try again or work offline ) and when choosing try again it
connects to the server , and when first pressing the send/receive button it
freezes again for about the same period . and then it works all fine as long as
the outlook is still running .

Its the first time to see such problem on my server since 3 years ago..

Note: it happened after installing the last critical updates published by MS
last week, and tried to uninstall them , but still same problem...

Any Idea what causes this freezing and delay ??

Thanks in advance for your help...

Sherif
