Make sure that in Email accounts where you would put the check for cache
mode that "deliver mail to" is not set to folders it should be set to
the user name.

Thanks all for the responses. I am not running in cached mode so that
is not the problem. If I put two workstations side-by-side, one running
Windows 2000/Exchange 2000 and the other is running Windows XP/Exchange
2003 and open up Exchange for the same user on each.... Then send an
email to that user, the Windows 2000 workstation receives it almost a
minute before the XP workstation does. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Kelli

Cache mode uses timed deliver to turn off cache mode click tools, email
accounts, choose view\change,next, then change, remove check in cache
mode. Of course with cache mode email can be recovered if server dies
and no backup.

True, cached exchange mode does make messages take longer to be
delivered...

I've seen this when the OST is activated.

Subject: [exchangelist] Outlook 2003 - slow to receive mail

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hi All,

I am running Exchange 2000. I have a small network that is running some
XP/Outlook 2003 and some 2000/Outlook 2000 workstations. Outlook works
fine on them all. But one workstation, running XP/Outlook 2003 is very
slow to receive mail. Every other workstation on the network will
receive an email almost instantly if I send it from another workstation.
This one delays anywhere from 45 seconds to a minute before the email
appears in the inbox. During that waiting time if I click on
"Send/Receive" it will appear immediately. I'm assuming I have some
parameter set wrong but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone else
experienced this?

Thanks,

Kelli in Ohio
