RPC/HTTPS does not require a FE server.

Microsoft actually only recommends that RPC/HTTPS is used. VPN is
supported and it should work without any issues, albeit slow depending
on the speed of the connections. For RPC/HTTPS you need a FE Server
which many small businesses cannot afford, therefore OWA and vpn have to
be used.

No
I did not know that
We don't have Exchange 2003 yet or Win2003 Server yet so do I have a
choice?

You know that Microsoft doesn't recommend that you use VPN for Outlook
2003 right? They do recommend you use RPC over HTTP.

My boss sent an email this morning - over the VPN it had 13 points in it
- when he sent it - it froze up - he put it in the drafts folder - went
back in finished the email and sent it but it arrived with only 6 points
in the email
- does anyone know why it might be doing this?
