Outlook 2003

Hey guys,
Does anyone know what would cause the Outlook 2003 client to disable the
RPC over HTTP configuration option? No matter what I try, the option
does not make itself available in the Exchange account configuration
Properties dialog box.
I searched Google and only found two entries related to this, but none
of them mention the possibility that the option would be greyed out.
