Marcel: May be that the Outlook client cannot browse the Global Address
list... this can happen if the RestrictAnonymous registry key on the
global catalog server is set to 0x2... need to set it back to 0x0...
(you can find it in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa)... if after
rebooting or after a while you find that the registry key defaults back
to 0x2, it's probably due to a higher security Group Policy security
template you may have (so might need to change that)... hope this
helps... Alfonso

Subject: [exchangelist] Outlook 2000 RPC comms with Exchange 2000

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Outlook 2000 Error message: the name could not be match to a name in the
address list

Solutions tried:
1) Tested RPC comms from client to exchange using rpings.exe from
exchange SP2 and worked fine.
2) reinstalled and did a clean install of outlook2000.
3) asigned the GC role to different DC's in domain. (have read that
this
can be a major issue)

I probably have over looked somthing simple and would really appreciate
some help.

Thanx

Marcel
