No, there isnt a NT permission issue at all. I just thought you wanted to block the windows nt account to access the OWA server, because since the mailbox is hidden the user shouldn't have to have access to the OWA server anyway. Nevermind my last mail, ok?. About the actual issue, thats the way OWA works, it needs to 'see' the mailbox. This is by design. Microsoft loves to say that. So, if you want the user being able to access the mailbox, that mailbox shouldnt be hidden. Outlook gets no matter if the profile has been already created before you hide the mailbox. Try to create a new profile at the workstation with the user hidden and you will not be able to do it, and therefore not be able to access the mailbox. Sorry my poor English. I know about the access to the mailbox and the nt user account access, but why does making him a hidden recipient cause OWA to not be able to see his mailbox? If I unhide it from the address book, then he can log in. Once hidden, he cannot use OWA. This isn't a NT permissions issue I think. Outlook gets in no matter what his hidden setting is. -----Original Message----- From: Dêniz Feital (Chiptek) [mailto:dfeital@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, January 06, 2003 12:56 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: OWA does not allow hidden recipients acces s?!! ! http://www.MSExchange.org/ Well, they really are diferent things, because you have to allow the Windows NT account to access the OWA Server, and you have to allow that Windows NT Account to access his mailbox. Anyway, you can create two groups, one of them with users who can access the server and other one with those who cant. Allow 'logon on locally' permission on OWA server only for the group which will have the users with access to the server. Or you still can deny access to the file logon.asp to that especific Windows NT account, but I wouldnt advise you to do that, its too workfull.
