Thanks for the tip. I tried it with one of the servers that are in the queue
and as soon as I try to type my HELO command I am disconnected. I tried the
same test with my own server from a laptop off of the network and it works
fine. It seems something is not working between myself and these servers in the
list. If I do not type anything the connection seems to stay valid. As soon as
I type is when the connection is broken. Any thoughts?

Steve

...as for troubleshooting remote host retry issues; you;ll need to look at
the remote host. You can often do that with a telnet session to the remote
host to see why they drop the connection. This could be for many reasons but
it's a normal occurrence in some instances.

Q153119 talks about the set of steps to test this if unfamiliar.

Hi Stephen,

There's some good info about DNS issues with Exchange in the ISA Server 2000
Exchange 2000/2003 Deployment Kit.

Check out the ISA Server 2000 Exchange 2000/2003 Deployment Kit! --

Thanks for the info on the DNS. To say Exchange has been a lot to learn
would be an understatement but I noticed in my SMTP queue that I have about
16 remote delivery entries in there with a status of retry. When I look in
the properties of the entries I see "The connection was dropped by the
remote host." Where can I look to trouble shoot this. I have looked on MS
site and the msexchange.org and have not been able to find anything. Thanks
in advance.

Steve
