Does this apply even after SP4 and the post SP4 hot fixes?! -----Original Message----- From: ONG Liang Bu (CSC) [mailto:lbong@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2002 8:02 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: My 5.5 server is locked down, but relay still happens! http://www.MSExchange.org/ Happen to me before, done everything but the relaying still took place. End up the culprit is a registry key. For some reason the setting set in the IMS does not write the correct registry value into the key Relayflags. I have to manually modify the registry key before everything works. Info is in this Q193922, is also mentioned in some texts that came across http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;193922 <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;193922> -----Original Message----- From: Lenny Burns [mailto:lenny.burns@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 16, 2002 2:20 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] My 5.5 server is locked down, but relay still happens! http://www.MSExchange.org/ I have followed the instructions for every method described to prevent SPAM and relaying. At my company has 30+ domains that is goes by and we accept inbound mail for all of those. However, we still send THOUSANDS of email spam messages every night. I have changed the passwords, disabled unused accounts and read all I can on the subject. So how in the WORLD am I to stop this crap?! ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: lbong@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: Lenny.burns@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
