Thanks, Michael. How does this sound:

Option #1

1) Exmerge users mailboxes to PST's
2) Backup everything on the server, including the DB's
3) Wipe the server clean
4) Install Windows, Active Directory (separate trusted forest again) &
Exchange from scratch
5) Create brand new accounts to be later associated with the mailboxes
6) Exmerge and import PST's and connect the mailboxes to the new
accounts (How will it know which account goes with which mailbox if
they are brand new AD accounts?)
7) Hope that everything works

Option #2

1) Exmerge users mailboxes to PST's
2) Backup everything on the server, including the DB's
3) Wipe the server clean
4) Upgrade the existing 2000 forest (one DC) to the 2003 level.
5) Install Windows, make a member server, and install Exchange
6) Exmerge and import PST's and connect the mailboxes to the existing
2000 AD accounts (Is this even possible to associate PST'd mailboxes
to totally different user accounts in a 2000 forest?)
7) Hope that everything works
* I would prefer not to modify the existing 2000 forest to the 2003
level, that's why the seperate 2003 forest was created for Exchange
