You don't even have to copy the database files manually to new location. All you do is, make a backup, select the database properties, and define the new location, and Apply changes. Every thing else is done automatically for you, Stopping services, Moving files, Restarting services all done done automatically. And it works. I've looked at this article: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF001.html 1. BACKUP 2. Dismount Store 3. Change location of Log and system files in ESM 4. Change location of EDB and STM files 5. Copy files to new location 6. Mount Store And this is the way I plan to do it. But it all looks deceptively simple, are there any "gotchas" I should be aware of?
