Did you encounter any errors while moving mailboxes? If you look under the new home server Information store, do you see these mailbox objects created? Have you checked the user object attributes to see if the HomeMDB attribute was updated to the new server? HTH. Some mailboxes work fine, others still point to the old server. I've had about 5% that can no longer access certain things like PFs or calendars, etc. ________________________________ From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Periyasamy, Raj Sent: Wednesday, November 01, 2006 1:19 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: Moved mailboxes not re-homing Forgot to mention.. The DNS name pointer is necessary only for the first time Outlook startup after the mailbox move, and the profile updates itself to point to the new Exchange home server. Consecutive Outlook startups don't look for the old server. HTH. You should not loose permissions as a result of the move. HTH. Moves go fine, but some mailboxes don't "home" to the new server name. Users come in the next day and can't connect to the server as their profile is still pointing to the old box. Is this a common issue? Also, it seems that some mailboxes lose permissions to some public folders, some other users lose perms to other user's calendars etc. Is this expected behavior when moving mailboxes? Thanks
