Eric,

Thanks for the response.

What I was hoping for was an icon that appears even if the user doesn't
have "Outlook" open. I work in a school where e-mail is still relatively
unusual and users haven't got into the habit of checking their e-mail
regularly.

Regards

Do you mean the envelope that appears in the systray when new mail
arrives?

In Outlook 2002, it's located under Tools\Options, Preferences tab\Email
Options\Advanced Email Options\Show an envelope in the sytray.

Mark,

Please would you provide a few more clues so that we mere mortals can
implement this often requested feature without spending time navigating
through the maze of windows, menus, tabs and radio buttons where we can
wreak instant havoc so easily!! ;-)

Regards

David S.

Is there a way while a user is logged on to have a system tray icon
monitoring their exchange mailbox and alert them if there is any new
mail? The problem with most mail monitors is they can't support multiple
users unless you set them up for each one individually. Cant a monitor
just grab the current users name nad password and use that to monitor
the correct exchange mailbox?
