SolutionID: nai3984 Print Close Window

Problem Description:
Scan Engine is not changing version number when running superdat.

Message says DATs are already on the current version

Manually updating DAT files in GroupShield Exchange 4.5

See the problem environment.

Solution:
The best way to update and engine on any 4.x McAfee product running a
Microsoft O/S is to download and execute the SuperDAT from
http://www.nai.com/asp_set/download/dats/superdat.asp.

Alternately, one may manually replace the DATs and engine files then stop
and restart our services and the information store.

Extract the SuperDAT by downloading as above into a temporary directory.
From a command line or run line, execute the sdat4xxx.exe /e [DIR]. For more
see Command Line Options for SuperDats.

Stop the following services:
Microsoft Exchange information store (so the dats can be released from
memory)
Network Associates Groupshield Exchange
Network Associates Groupshield On-Line update
Network Associates Groupshield Log Service
Network Associates Outbreak Manager
Copy the following files:
clean.dat
names.dat
scan.dat
mcscan32.dll (if the engine needs updating as well)
Put the above files into the I386 directory under the Groupshield Exchange
(or alpha directory on Alpha based systems). Restart the services starting
in the same order as above.

Is anyone here running McAfee Groupshield and Webshield-SMTP products in the
same Exchange 5.5 server? Is there any problems in running them in the same
server?

Raj
