OK, but the users pc is pretty hefty with 4GB RAM Quad core, the only slight
drawback is that it's on Vista rather than XP.

It depends on lots of things; but I have quite a number of clients that have
mailboxes that large on Exchange 2003 that are getting acceptable performance.

I am sure we are running sp2, but just wondering if this sort of behaviour is
expected, or should this not be the case with Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007?
or am i expecting too much?

And make sure you’ve applied SP2 to Outlook 2007.

Over 4gb is that 5gb or 6gb or 18gb or 20gb?
Is the profile set to cache mode?

Hi Guys,

just need to get some clarity on this. We have a user whos mailbox if over 4GB,
and she keepe getting locks and freezes. We have suggested to her that she
archive her stuff, but my question is should this be happening? What is the
maximum size a mailbox can be before you start encountering performance issues
such as this

Exchange 2003
Windows 2003
outlook 2007

thanks

patrick
