http://www.msexchange.org -------------------------------------------------------Oh, I'm not averse to changing the setting and will most likely change it to 20 mins ... But I had no real need to change it to less if I could force a flush / reload. Ideally I'd set this to something like 1 minute (but the business requirement hasn't been set that it needs to be, so we won't) ... we've got everyone used to things happening immediately with the self-provisioning. I do have to say though, 20 minutes beats waiting a half a day for a helpdesk ticket to work its way to where it needs to go. Thanks for the confirmation. -----Original Message----- From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Michael B. No. The only way to reload the cache is to restart the Information Store service. Why don't you want to change the default setting? -----Original Message----- From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Howard Rappaport Sent: Monday, July 17, 2006 10:24 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: Mailbox Cache Age Limit http://www.msexchange.org -------------------------------------------------------I'm looking to find out if there is a way to leave the default setting, but have a way to kick off a reread of mailbox quota information. Rather than having a delay and having a user wait for the quota change to take effect, have some script / application force a reread. Much like you can force a rebuild of an OAB, I'd like to force a flush / reload of the cache, along with having it do it on its regular schedule. -----Original Message----- From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Michael B. You set the registry values that affect the cache lifetime once per Exchange installation (ie, on each server). That affects all users homed on that server. Is that what you mean, or are you asking something different? -----Original Message----- From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Howard Rappaport Sent: Monday, July 17, 2006 5:40 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Mailbox Cache Age Limit http://www.msexchange.org -------------------------------------------------------Has anyone come across or created a method to programmatically reread mailbox quota information? I'm looking to do something that has the same effort as modifying the Mailbox Cache Age Limit & Reread Logon Quotas Interval so that quota changes take place more expeditiously than the 2 hours out of the box. We provision users programmatically and allow themselves to upgrade their mailbox size. Ideally, when they do the upgrade it would take place at that time. Worst case we could inform them that an upgrade will take 30 mins, configure the values of the Mailbox Cache Age Limit & Reread Logon Quotas Interval appropriately, and be on our merry way.
