I have received several responses from people who state they have Outlook 2000 running on their Exchange 5.5 server. Please forgive me for being green, but in my Exchange class, they made a huge deal out of the fact that Exchange 5.5 server can not have Outlook 2000 running on the same PC. I spoke out of what I was told, not experience. Again, I'm sorry, but I'm very new to Exchange. -----Original Message----- From: Golden, James [mailto:jgolden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 5:05 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Mail flow issue http://www.MSExchange.org/ Agreed. That is true. I didn't read it that way, sorry. -----Original Message----- From: Lacaille, Michael [mailto:MLacaille@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 4:23 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Mail flow issue http://www.MSExchange.org/ I meant that you could not have Outlook 2000 on the Exchange server. I know that Outlook 2000 clients work with the Exchange 5.5 as my facility has approx. 1500 users. But from the original posting, it sounded like the person had Outlook on his Exchange server. -----Original Message----- From: Golden, James [mailto:jgolden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 3:11 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Mail flow issue http://www.MSExchange.org/ ummmm... Outlook 2000 does work with Exchange 5.5. I have about 1500 users doing it. -----Original Message----- From: Lacaille, Michael [ mailto:MLacaille@xxxxxxxx <mailto:MLacaille@xxxxxxxx> ] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 3:06 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Mail flow issue http://www.MSExchange.org/ <http://www.MSExchange.org/> What Outlook client are you using? Outlook 2000 doesn't work with Exchange 5.5. Sorry, but I'm not sure what is hanging the Outlook clients. -----Original Message----- From: Nathan Kaplan [ mailto:nkaplan@xxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:nkaplan@xxxxxxxxxxx> ] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 2:37 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Mail flow issue http://www.MSExchange.org/ <http://www.MSExchange.org/> When using Outlook on the Exchange server itself or Outlook on the LAN clients, send mail stuck in the outbox until you click something in the inbox or any other folders. Otherwise it can take hours until mail is going. After server reboots everything is fine for a few hours. Exchange 5.5 sp4 on nt4, sp6a. No error messages in the event viewer. Any ideas?
