Mac users cannot log in using POP3 client

Last Friday we ran the Windows Update on our NT 4.0 server running
Exchange 5.5 SP4.  Everything seemed to go well but now some, but not all
of the MAC users cannot authenticate when they try to logon with their
POP3 client (Eudora).  The error message is "Unknow User or Bad Password".
 They can get into their mailbox using the OWA from their web browsers and
can see everything else on the network.  They can access their home
directories and manipulate their files.  If we change their password on a
domain controller for them they can get in but they cannot change their
password from their workstation.  We also ran the updates on the domain

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
