Hi, I did set up on my intranet an IM server. When my clients try to
logon, they get an error meesage, which is the following: "The person
logged on to this computer does not have permission to use the specified
e-mail adress. Please type your e-mail adress and password". Also, in
Event Viewer, I have two error messages. If you look at article 279095
on technet, you find the exact problem I encounter. Except that I tried
their solution and it still doesn't work. I uninstalled IM and
reinstalled it. Same result everytime.
I really would like the IM server to work. Any clues?
I should mention that I tried it on two different servers and I have the
same result on both servers!!!!

Jeff,
Did you install IM when you installed Exchange?, if not, run the
Exchange setup and select to install the IM Service.

i'm investigating setting up the instant messaging server on our
intranet. I've looked at some of the tutorials on the msexchange
website, but for the life of me, can't seem to figure out how to install
the im server. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks
