hello, if you really want to get rid of this, install a new server, migrate all mailboxes on it, then remove this one. If you have only one good server for exchange, this is much longer: mirate all mailboxes to a temporary one, remove and reinstall completely the "good" one, migrate again. You must expect some NDR, problems with outlook if migrating mailboxes during opened hours, and much work from you. May not be interesting if it works well anyway. At the time we didn't realize that it was 1 char over the 15 char limit. So, the network see's it as only 15 chars but exchange see's the name as all 16 chars. I'm not sure what this will really do to the exchange environment. So far we have been working for quite some time like this. The main question I have is; Will exchange break if I try and rename the server the correct way and only @ 15 chars. or do I need to back up all the stores and re-install exchange and reset up everything? Has anyone ran across this or had to do it? thanks Scott
